Terms of Use
Last updated: July 10, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Quartenson website. They apply to the website only and do not govern Quartenson mobile applications, which have their own app-specific legal pages.
If you have questions, contact quartenson.support@gmail.com.
1. Informational Use
This website is provided for general informational purposes, including product information, company details, and educational content. You use the website at your own discretion.
2. Browser Tools, Local History, and Benchmarks
Quartenson browser tools are free practice and self-tracking tools. They are not medical devices, clinical tests, diagnostic tools, driving-safety assessments, or guarantees of cognitive improvement. Results can be affected by device performance, browser behavior, screen size, input method, interruptions, fatigue, and other context.
Some tools store recent sessions, personal bests, settings, or daily practice activity in your browser local storage. This local data is provided for your convenience, can be cleared from the tool interface or browser settings, and is not an account or cloud backup.
Some tools may also submit anonymized completion metrics for the current finished session so the website can show community benchmark distributions. These submissions use only allowed setup fields and result metrics, such as tool mode, difficulty, sample size, completion time, response time, accuracy, clean trials, or similar tool-specific values. They do not upload local history, personal bests, daily activity, form contents, accounts, or visitor identifiers.
Benchmarks are approximate informational comparisons. Quartenson may seed initial benchmark data, aggregate results, cache benchmark statistics, validate incoming metrics, ignore invalid or out-of-range results, rate-limit requests, change benchmark thresholds, or remove benchmark features to protect service quality and data integrity. Benchmarks are not public rankings or leaderboards.
Do not intentionally spam benchmark requests, tamper with submitted metrics, automate abusive traffic, attempt to identify other users from aggregate benchmark data, or interfere with the website's normal operation.
3. External Links
The website may link to third-party services, including app stores, hosted forms, and external websites. Those services are operated by third parties, and we are not responsible for their availability, content, or practices.
4. Availability and Service Providers
We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We may update, suspend, or remove parts of the site at any time without notice.
Quartenson uses hosting, database, delivery, security, monitoring, and infrastructure service providers to operate and protect the website and related private API routes. These providers may process standard network metadata as needed to deliver the service, prevent abuse, monitor reliability, and troubleshoot operational issues. The public legal pages describe provider categories and purposes without listing exact infrastructure vendor names.
5. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the website content, design, branding, copy, graphics, and code are owned by Quartenson or used with permission. You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute website materials without our prior written consent, except where allowed by applicable law.
6. Cookies Used on This Website
The Quartenson website uses a small set of cookies and related measurement storage for site functionality and, according to your consent choices, website analytics or ads measurement.
- quartenson-theme remembers the light or dark theme you selected so the website keeps your preferred appearance after a page reload or later visit.
- quartenson-consent-v2 remembers your consent choices so the banner does not keep appearing on each page load and so Google measurement storage follows your preferences.
- quartenson-cookie-notice may remain from an older version of the cookie notice for visitors who previously accepted it.
- quartenson-analytics-disabled, if you set it, disables website analytics requests including anonymous first-party consent-preference checks.
- quartenson-schulte-table-history-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage when you use the Schulte table tool. It keeps the last 20 completed sessions per table size and mode, plus personal bests, on your device only.
- quartenson-visual-search-history-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage when you use the Visual Search tool. It keeps the last 20 completed sessions per mode and difficulty, plus personal bests, on your device only.
- quartenson-visual-memory-history-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage when you use the Visual Memory tool. It keeps the last 20 completed sessions per mode and difficulty, plus best levels, on your device only.
- quartenson-reaction-time-history-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage when you use the Reaction Time tool. It keeps the last 20 completed sessions per sample size, plus personal bests, on your device only.
- quartenson-peripheral-awareness-history-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage when you use the Peripheral Awareness tool. It keeps the last 20 completed sessions per difficulty and measurement count, plus best consistency records, on your device only.
- quartenson-tool-settings-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage to remember browser-tool settings such as table size, mode, difficulty, sample size, measurement count, number size, and display preferences on your device only.
- quartenson-tool-activity-v1 may be stored in your browser local storage to show a lightweight daily practice summary across the free browser tools. It keeps completion counts by tool and day, first and last completion times for that local day, and whether a local best improved. It does not store full result history and is kept on your device only.
- _ga may be set by Google/Firebase Analytics only after Analytics consent to distinguish visits and help measure aggregate site usage.
- _ga_<measurement-id> or similar Google/Firebase measurement cookies may be set only after Analytics consent to maintain session and page measurement for the Quartenson website.
- _gcl_au or similar Google Ads measurement cookies may be set only after Ads measurement consent for conversion measurement and ad attribution. Exact names may vary as Google updates its measurement implementation.
Quartenson does not currently use personalized advertising or remarketing on this website. Personalized-ad consent remains denied unless that feature is explicitly introduced later.
Tool local histories are optional browser-side progress data. They are not accounts, are not synced to cloud storage, and are not sent to Quartenson analytics, the Quartenson API, Google/Firebase Analytics, or Google Ads. You can clear them from each tool's History modal or by clearing site data in your browser.
Browser-tool settings stored in local storage are used only to keep your selected tool preferences after page refreshes. Quartenson does not collect or upload these local settings.
Daily practice activity stored in local storage is used only to show your local progress across the free browser tools. It is not synced, uploaded, or used for analytics or backend requests. If website accounts or progress sync are added later, Quartenson may offer an optional import of selected local history or activity, but only after you explicitly choose to import it and consent to linking that data to your account.
Anonymous community benchmark submissions are separate from local storage. They submit only allowlisted metrics for the current finished session and do not upload local history, settings history, daily activity, or local personal-best records.
7. Website Analytics and Interaction Measurement
Quartenson uses Google Consent Mode v2 with consent-denied defaults. Before you make a choice, Google tags may load in consent-denied mode and send limited cookieless signals designed to respect your selected preferences. Analytics and advertising cookies are not set before consent.
If you grant Analytics consent, Quartenson may use Google/Firebase Analytics to measure aggregate interaction data on the website. This can include page visits, article views and engagement signals, navigation usage, button clicks, card clicks, consent preference actions, and clicks that open important external resources such as beta signup or feedback forms.
Tool completion analytics may include lightweight result summaries such as grid size, completion time, mistake count, accuracy, difficulty, sample size, measurement count, or similar session metrics. These summaries are used to understand tool usage and are not read from local history storage.
If you grant Ads measurement consent, Google Ads measurement may be used for conversion measurement and ad attribution. This does not enable personalized ads or remarketing.
You can accept all optional measurement, reject all optional measurement, customize categories, and later change or withdraw your choices from the Cookie settings link in the website footer.
Quartenson may also send an anonymous first-party request to its own API when consent preferences are saved, storing only a server-created timestamp. Browser tools may also send anonymized completion metrics after a finished session so anonymous result benchmarks can be shown. The benchmark payload does not include visitor identifiers, accounts, cookies, IP addresses, user agents, referrers, sessions, client timestamps, form contents, or local history. These requests are separate from Google Analytics.
The website may include a first-party feedback form, including from the footer or specific tool pages. If you submit it, Quartenson stores only the feedback text and short internal source label, plus the optional email address you choose to provide, so the website and tools can be improved.
Consented measurement is used to understand how visitors use the site, improve content and page structure, and evaluate which product and article paths are most useful. It is not used by Quartenson for personalized advertising.
